Dear C1 Apollo students,

Most of you are neat and presentable during the spotcheck today.
This is commendable as we are the first faculty to be checked and WE
set the example that other faculties will follow.

A fine appearance should not be something that you keep up because
there is going to be a spotcheck, or because you will be given
demerit points if you are caught. The way your school uniform is
worn shows your pride in our school. Being an alumnus of Hwa Chong,
I feel proud when I see juniors who have uniforms that are neat and
tidy, telling me that these are the people who care about how others
will view Hwa Chong. Don't forget that everyone of you carry the Hwa
Chong brand name, and the first thing other people see, will be what
you are wearing. We depend on you to uphold the fine name that your
seniors have taken many years to build up. Being a Hwa Chongian will
give you many opportunities in life, but with privilege, comes great
obligations and responsiblities. You have to be prepared to take it
up.

Apollo students, I hope you can take the lead (as you have done in
Orientation) to show the other students that you are capable of
upholding the right values and be an exemplar student that keeps
Apollo and Hwa Chong ahead of others, all the time.
